By Steve Bartle, UteZone: Utah head men’s basketball coach Craig Smith has named Demarlo Slocum an assistant coach on his staff. Slocum has spent the previous two seasons at UNLV but also coached at Utah for eight years prior to that.
A Las Vegas native, Slocum served on the UNLV staff the pst two years after serving as an assistant coach at Utah for eight years (2011-19), which included multiple NCAA Tournaments and a total of seven postseason appearances. He was instrumental in the recruitment and development of three NBA First Round Draft Picks while at the Pac-12 school, particularly Delon Wright and Kyle Kuzma.
