OregonLive.com: The Oregon Ducks blistering-hot week on the recruiting trail continued Friday, asĀ 247Sports four-star safety Daymon DavidĀ announced his commitment.
Rated the nationās No. 12 safety, the 6-foot-1, 178-pound athlete, out of Franklin High School (Reisterstown, Maryland), chose Oregon over fellow finalists Boston College and Michigan, as well as scholarship offers from Arkansas, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and others.
Adding to Davidās inherent value as a bluechip safety, he has a close friendship with All-American Bowl selectionĀ Dontāe Thornton, the nationās No. 6 wide receiver. The duo has publicly hinted at being a āpackage dealā at the collegiate level, and Oregon was already considered the heavy favorite to land Thornton
