Former Husky Budda Baker expected to have thumb surgery, miss time

Dawgman: In an NFL offseason that saw countless players get massive contract extensions, Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker was just another name on the list. Baker became the NFL’s highest-paid safety in history when he received a four-year, $59 million contract extension, averaging out to $14.75 million per year. But that investment is already in a little bit of danger.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Baker played Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his thumb.
