Dawgman | 247Sports: The Fresno State Bulldogs officially have their starting quarterback. Head coach Kalen DeBoer announced Monday that Jake Haener has beaten out Ben Wooldridge to earn the job as Fresno State’s starter.
Haener, a transfer from Washington, was the perceived favorite for the job this season after coming to Fresno State last September. Last year Haener narrowly lost the starting Washington job to eventual fourth-round NFL Draft pick Jacob Eason before joining the Bulldogs. However, the redshirt sophomore Wooldridge competed alongside junior Haener in a neck-and-neck battle in preseason camp.
