By Jason Scheer, Wildcat Authority: Gonzaga assistant Tommy Lloyd has accepted the offer to become the next head basketball coach at Arizona. He is expected to fly out with his family on Sunday night and hold a press conference on Monday.
Arizona interviewed current Arizona assistant Jason Terry, Los Angeles assistant and former Arizona Wildcat Miles Simon, and Pacific head basketball coach Damon Stoudamire, but the search has always been focused on Lloyd as the top target.
Lloyd just finished his 20th season as an assistant coach, joining head coach Mark Few’s staff prior to the 2001-02 season after serving as an administrative assistant the previous season.
