By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: In today’s age of college football, a coaching staff is far more complex than it once was. For proof, take a look at the staff listing during the heyday of Washington State’s back-to-back-to-back 10-win seasons and the roll call totals 15. Shawn Deeds as coordinator of football operations and Kevin Night Pipe as multimedia coordinator were about as exotic as things got.
Here in 2021, the Cougars’ football staff directory numbers 33. Two positions in particular speak to the ever-evolving landscape of the game: director of transfer recruiting, and director of football digital media. Yet even at 33, the Cougs’ staff total is on the modest side when compared with Alabama’s 44 or USC’s 39.
