By Dean Straka, 247Sports: In an era of college sports that has been dominated by the emergence of the NCAA transfer portal, another landmark has reportedly been reached. According to The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach, the NCAA Division I Council approved a new rule on Wednesday that will allow for all NCAA athletes to transfer once with immediate eligibility at their new institution.
According to Auerbach, the vote for the blanket waiver — a new policy that has been expected to pass for some time — was believed to be unanimous. The legislation won’t officially go into effect until Thursday.
