247Sports: Former West Virginia, Michigan and Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez has been hired as the offensive coordinator at Louisiana-Monroe under head coach Terry Bowden, the school announced on Tuesday afternoon. In addition to the hiring of Rodriguez as the offensive coordinator, his son, Rhett Rodriguez, will be transferring to the school as a quarterback after leaving Arizona and entering the transfer portal on December 23.
According to Rodriguez, his son’s decision to look for a new football home played a large role in the former Power 5 head coach taking the job at ULM. During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, Rodriguez broke down what led to him receiving and taking the offer to join Bowden’s staff.
