USC’s Helton confirms open competition for starting OL spots in the fall

By R.J. Abeytia, USCFootball: USC ties a bow on its five-week, 15-practice spring camp today with the last practice before the team heads into what Head Coach Clay Helton called a “discretionary period” that would include final exams. Helton met with the media one final time via Zoom to sum up what he saw from his team in camp and where he sees the team headed for the summer and into fall camp. The brightest spotlights have been on the offensive line over the course of camp, and Helton had some things to say about the state of the Trojans in the trenches as well as the ultimate impact of the lineup shuffling we’ve seen over the final chapters of camp.
