By Ryan McDonald, Deseret News: The running back reload through the transfer portal is continuing for theĀ Utah Utes football program. On Saturday, Tavion Thomas of Independence Community College announced his pledge to the Utes via Twitter, joiningĀ TJ PledgerĀ andĀ Chris CurryĀ as backs who have committed to Utah since the end of last season.
Although the big 6-foot-3, 230-pound Thomas will join the Utes from the junior college ranks, he has solid FBS experience. After signing with the Cincinnati Bearcats out of Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio in 2018, Thomas played 10 games as a freshman, tallying 499 yards on 89 carries with six touchdowns
